The eye is like a camera. The natural lens is directly behind the pupil. It focuses on the light entering the retina located behind the eye. It also acts as regulator of the eye and give us a chance to see clearly things near and far.

The lens is composed of a number of proteins and water. When you age, the concentration of the protein can form small lumps and cloud the lens. This is called a cataract, and over time, clouding may become a cause greater and obstruction in our line of vision.
