Cataract Laser Surgery
Why would you be a candidate for cataract laser surgery? When the light rays focus either on the surface of the retina, we see clearly. When you focus a little in front of the retina or behind it, we see blurriness. This may be a reason you need cataract laser surgery.
Your eye is flexible and in normal, clear vision, tiny muscles change convex / concavity of the way that allows us to focus well at all distances. The goal is composed of water and protein arranged so as to maintain very transparent, so light to pass through the retina unimpeded.
Our vision gradually changes as we age. The agreement protein and water changes, so some of the masses of proteins together, creating a small blockage of light rays. This is a cataract. cataracts start small, grow very slowly, causing light rays to have trouble passing through it. This means that they can not focus on the retina and experience blurriness and excess shine. If left untreated for long enough, cataracts can be extended through the lens, causing vision loss. And this is a good cause for laser cataract removal.
This is a cataract of diagnosis and treatment, the best that we can maintain our vision.
The Three types of cataracts
• Nuclear cataracts – begin to form in the middle of the lens, extending outwards, caused by aging of the lens
• cortical cataracts – begin to form at the edge of the lens and extends towards the interior, often caused by diabetes
• Subcapsular cataracts – begin to form on the back of the lens, and most cases diagnosed in diabetics, people with high doses of steroids, people with retinitis pigmentation, with serious or long term.
The causes of cataracts
Research is under way with regard to the causes. We do not yet know why aging should result in a gray to form or what other factors may contribute to their education. It is really important to protect your eyesight.
Some studies have pointed to ultraviolet light, so some eye doctors
I suggest that you put sunglasses and a hat to shade to protect our eyes
Other studies suggest the cosmic radiation, which causes the taxpayers, since it appears that the airline’s pilots often develop cataracts.
People with diabetes experience eye changes caused by problems in blood circulation. But too often cataracts, which makes people on steroids, diuretics and calm litzants. It is still unclear whether the medical conditions or medicines are contributing more to cataracts.
Other studies have indicated:
• Too much salt
• use of alcohol
• Smoking
• Lead
Symptoms of Cataracts
With three types of cataracts, the symptoms are mild at first. You may notice that only in one eye.
• Blurriness or veils
• The decrease in brightness of color
• It glare of light sources, especially at night
The symptoms gradually increase over time. But the deterioration of eyesight is not a necessary adjunct to aging. A good eye doctor can decide which type of cataract you have and you about cataract surgery.
Cataract Laser Surgery: The Cataract Laser Process
This is the most commonly performed surgery patients in the United States and in almost all those who have to get a very good vision.
• Your eye surgeon will examine your eyes to determine entitlement to power intraocular lens (IOL) implant that for you. The IOL is made of lightweight plastic.
• A local anesthetic is given a relaxing medication (only some patients).
• Using a microscope, the surgeon makes a small cut.
• The ultrasound can be used first to break the natural lens, so it can be removed easily, or sometimes, as it is removed. The purpose of the back membrane (posterior capsule) is intact.
• The IOL is inserted gently and close incisions. Dissolvable points can be used.
• So, your surgeon will give you a guard eyes, and you can go home the same day.
In some cases, the posterior capsule becomes cloudy after cataract laser surgery. Many have described this as a haze after cataract operation. This makes your vision blurred again, but can be treated with a laser. Your eye surgeon makes a small opening in the capsule to allow light to reach the retina, as it should.
